Our children find joy in learning, in discovering the world and who they are.
Curriculum
Our curriculum is designed to ignite curiosity, nurture a love of learning, and empower children to explore their individual strengths. We believe that the foundation of a lifelong learner is built through joyful discovery, playful exploration, and meaningful experiences that encourage pupils to ask questions, think critically, and engage deeply with the world around them.
Alongside fostering a passion for learning, we are dedicated to providing outstanding preparation for the 11+, ensuring our pupils are fully equipped for entrance to the most prestigious Senior Schools. Our rigorous academic programme, tailored support, and expert guidance help each child develop the knowledge, skills, and confidence to excel in these crucial assessments.
We have developed seven learning dispositions which are embedded across the curriculum and recognised in commendations, reports, written and verbal feedback. These dispositions support and enhance our wide-ranging and dynamic curriculum, from the core maths, English, science and humanities through to music, drama, dance, and languages.
Subjects
From the very start of their journey with us, all pupils benefit from specialist teaching in Art, Drama, French, Music, and Sport, allowing them to develop their skills and interests under the guidance of passionate subject experts. From Year 5 onwards, the entire curriculum is taught by specialist teachers, ensuring that their expertise and enthusiasm inspire pupils, deepening their knowledge and engagement across all subjects.
Our approach blends structured teaching with hands-on learning, allowing children to develop essential literacy, numeracy, and communication skills while also embracing creativity, physical development, and personal growth. Through an enriching and balanced curriculum – including English, Mathematics, Science, the Arts, and Physical Education – pupils gain the confidence to express themselves, share ideas, and navigate challenges with resilience and enthusiasm. In addition, subjects such as Dance, Languages (including French, Latin, Mandarin, and Spanish), Philosophy, Economics and Politics, and Computer Science ensure that pupils develop a broad and forward-thinking perspective, preparing them for the ever-evolving world.
We celebrate every child’s journey, providing opportunities for them to find their passion – their ‘thing’ – whether through storytelling, problem-solving, artistic expression, or active play. Small class sizes, a strong sense of community, and expert teaching ensure that each child is known, valued, and supported to thrive both academically and personally.
With a strong emphasis on fostering independence, collaboration, and a growth mindset, we prepare our pupils not just for Year 7, but for a lifelong adventure in learning – one filled with wonder, excitement, and endless possibilities.
Form teachers
All children have a form teacher, who fosters a sense of identity and security from an early age and who will be the first port of call for both children and parents.
The form teacher will always teach some of the academic curriculum to their children and, quite frequently, will teach several subjects to their children. All the children will see specialist teachers for some subjects, such as Sport, Music, Art, DT, Computing, PSHE and Languages. There are cross curricular links between many subjects that help to bring definition and breadth to particular topics and projects.
We take great care in allocating children to their class each year, and believe that achieving a balance, a mix of strengths and different personalities is the key to a successful, stimulating and happy environment.
Outdoor learning
We embrace our Camden and Regent’s Park locations, each bringing a different vibrancy to the children’s educational experience with us. Regent’s Park is not only an extension to our playground but we use The Hub there daily for our PE lessons, training and competitive sports programme. We work with the Parks Trust at Regent’s Park, for delivery of our Outdoor Learning/Bushcraft programme and all children are active members of ZSL London Zoo, which is just a short walk from us. Our partnership with London Zoo forms part of our Science curriculum in addition to enhancing learning across other subjects. We have recently been analysing the sound waves of a gibbons’ call!
Camden Town is an inspiration across the curriculum, but no more than for our Creative Arts programme. From art projects celebrating the diversity of Parkway shopfronts to workshops with graffiti artists, Camden offers London’s finest art diversity.
Supporting all pupils
The school has the flexibility to put children into smaller groups to support and extend, whether it be in Sport, Music, Maths or English. It is an approach which enables us to go well beyond the requirements of the National Curriculum, introducing some subjects earlier and delivering others in greater depth.
All children study English, Mathematics, Science, Religious Studies, Design Technology, Humanities/topic, a language (French, Mandarin), Music, Dance, Drama, Art, Computing, Sport and PSHE (Personal Social and Health Education).
